Where do I find knapping stone and tools?

Learning to make arrowheads can be difficult. Let’s make finding knapping stone and tools easy.

Flintknapping is the process of striking or pressure flaking a material that exhibits conchoidal fracture in order to shape it into a useful tool. This tool can take the shape of an arrowhead, a knife, or really anything you can come up with. I enjoy making crescent moons and I have seen some particularly skilled knappers make everything from faces to the outline of Texas. Skillset and imagination are your only limit! There are knappers and aspiring knappers all over the United States. We aren’t all graced with the good fortune of being close to natural deposits of high quality knappable stone. This page will link you to some of the better known and bigger suppliers for stone and tools and make your search for knapping stone and tools easier. I use the tools from flintknappingsupplies.com and T Rocks has some amazing stone and colorful glass. Check out the links!
